2019-2021 Audi Q7 and Q8 Sudden Engine Stall

The law firm of Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating the 2019-2021 Audi Q7 and Q8 Sudden Engine Stall. Owners report that these vehicles contain a design defect that causes it to display a “Drive System: malfunction! Please contact Service.” error message. This message, which may display when the vehicle is in motion, leads to the vehicle entering into limp mode which cautions the driver not to have exceed 2,500 RPM. As such, the defect presents an unreasonable safety risk for the driver as well as others on the road. The cause of the defect may be related to a fuel pump, exhaust system, alternator, or electronic issue.

Audi recently launched a recall of any vehicles affected by this issue. Specifically, in their recall materials, Audi cites the cause of the issue as a defective fuel delivery module that can break during operation of the vehicle leading to sudden loss of engine power.  The specific fix being offered is an optimized fuel delivery module. The prescribed part, however, has yet to be made available to dealerships.
