Madison Seating Damaged Items Investigation

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating Madison Seating for deceptively marketing used and damaged items as “open box” and failing to accommodate dissatisfied customers. Firstly, consumers allege that Madison Seating fails to adequately display discounted items’ status as “open box” when applicable. They allege only small-print displays that customers could easily miss. Moreover, many customers, even those aware of items’ “open box” designation, report receiving items with major damage and functional flaws that fall far outside the bounds of the reasonable wear and tear that may be expected from an open box item. Some customers allege broken handle bars or a cracked frame; others describe peeling fabric; another says they received a 14-15 year old model that could not be worth the discounted $400+ price it was sold for, let alone the $900+ value Madison claims the chair represents. Misled customers further claim that Madison Seating provides unhelpful customer service and fails to provide full refunds when requested within the 30-day warranty period. Instead, they force shipping and handling fees for the item’s return onto the customer and charge an additional restocking fee.

Have you purchased an “open box” item from Madison Seating that was delivered with major damage and/or function flaws? Were you then unable to secure a full and fair refund within the 30-day warranty period?

If so, we would like to speak with you. Please complete the contact form on this page, send us an email at [email protected], or give us a call at (202) 470-3520 for more information.
