Stem Cell Clinics’ Deceptive Marketing Class Action Investigation

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating stem cell clinics for deceptive marketing and harming patients looking for alternative treatments. Stem cell clinics purport to use stem cells to treat a variety of degenerative diseases like Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and heart disease, by removing fat cells from a patient’s belly fat, processing the stem cells from the fat cells through a centrifuge, and then injecting the stem cells back into the patient, often directly into the area of the person’s body in need of treatment. The results have been disastrous for some patients, fatal for others. Treatments offered by these clinics are often unapproved by state or federal regulators and essentially amount to experimentation with human subjects without proper oversight, researchers and regulators say. Direct-to-consumer stem cell treatments have thus far evaded federal regulation, resulting in further medical complications, if not death, for some of its patients.
