HearingLife Hearing Aid Return and Refund Investigation

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating whether HearingLife has properly honored consumers’ rights to return hearing aids and receive refunds.

HearingLife advertises a 30-day trial and return program that generally allows dissatisfied customers to return their hearing aids for a refund. However, certain states provide additional protections that may extend beyond a company’s standard advertised trial period.

For example, New York generally requires hearing-aid sellers to provide a 45-day money-back guarantee and limits how much most sellers may retain when a customer cancels a purchase. California also requires a 45-day fitting warranty for hearing aids that are not initially suitable for the purchaser’s particular needs.

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating whether HearingLife told customers that their return period expired after 30 days, denied refunds despite state-law protections, or charged improper fees when customers returned hearing aids.

Consumers May Have Experienced:

  • Hearing aids or related services that allegedly did not meet the representations made during the sales process;
  • Unclear or disputed disclosures concerning the total purchase price, financing, warranties, or return rights;
  • Difficulties understanding or exercising rights under applicable hearing-aid return or refund requirements;
  • Disputes involving follow-up care, repairs, or services included in the purchase.

Potential Claims May Include:

  • Violations of applicable state hearing-aid sales, disclosure, or return-policy requirements;
  • Unfair or deceptive business practices;
  • Misrepresentation or omission of material information;
  • Breach of contract or warranty, where supported by the facts;
  • Improper billing or financing practices, if applicable.
