Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating whether STRIPPIES misleads consumers about the effectiveness of its dissolvable vitamin and supplement strips, including the Sleep and Energy Strips.
STRIPPIES markets its dissolvable strips as a faster and more conventional alternative to traditional pills, gummies, and supplements. STRIPPIES claims that the strips “deliver ingredients to bloodstream in 5-10 minutes.”
However, a supplement dissolving in the mouth quickly does not necessarily establish that its active ingredients will produce the advertised effects within minutes. Other ingredients may be swallowed with saliva and absorbed through the digestive system, much like conventional supplements.
Questions have also risen regarding STRIPPIES’ caffeine representations. On STRIPPIES’ website, it describes Energy strips as containing 50 mg of caffeine, coming from green coffee bean extract. However, 50 mg of caffeine versus 50 mg of green coffee bean extract are not necessarily the same because green coffee bean extract contains more chlorogenic acids, fewer roasted compounds, and may have different metabolic effects.
