Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating a potentially dangerous solar-panel attachment defect affecting certain 2025–2026 Grand Design Lineage Class C motorhomes.
Affected motorhomes may have rooftop solar panels that were attached using adhesive without adequate mechanical fasteners. If the adhesive connection fails, a solar panel can potentially separate completely from the roof while the motorhome is being driven. The recall remedy adds mechanical fastening to secure the affected panels.
A solar panel separating from a moving motorhome could create a serious roadway hazard for the occupants of surrounding vehicles. Even where a panel has not completely detached, owners may experience loosening, lifting, movement, or damage requiring repair.
Migliaccio & Rathod is investigating whether affected Grand Design owners have experienced loose or detached solar panels, roof damage, repair delays, or other problems associated with the way the factory-installed panels were secured.
Owners May Have Experienced:
- A rooftop solar panel becoming loose or beginning to lift;
- Separation between the solar panel mounting system and the RV roof;
- A solar panel shifting while the motorhome was being driven;
- Complete detachment of a rooftop solar panel;
- Damage to the roof or surrounding components; or
- Being told that additional mechanical fasteners must be installed.
Potential Claims May Include:
- Defective design or installation;
- Failure to adequately secure factory-installed solar panels;
- Failure to adequately warn owners;
- Breach of express or implied warranties;
- Property damage or diminished value; and
- Violations of applicable consumer-protection laws.
Signs You May Be Affected:
- You own or lease a 2025–2026 Grand Design Lineage Class C motorhome;
- Your motorhome has factory-installed rooftop solar panels;
- A solar panel has become loose, lifted, shifted, or detached;
- Your roof or solar system required repair;
- You were advised to have mechanical fasteners added to the panels; or
- Your motorhome is included in the applicable solar-panel recall.
