On or around April 30, 2024, Sav-RX concluded an internal security audit and learned that an unauthorized third-party had gained access to its network. This unauthorized party was able to gain access to certain files that contained sensitive patient information, including private health information. The company did not state how long the party had access to its systems, but they believe that the cybercriminal first accessed their network on October 3, 2023.
The compromised information includes, but may not be limited to, the following:
- full names
- Social Security numbers
About the Sav-RX Data Breach
Sav-RX recently began informing individuals of these breaches through a mailed notice letter. All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous to affected victims. In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to unauthorized credit card applications, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web, to a massive uptick in the number of spam text messages, calls and emails received.
