Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating a data breach of Forever 21 employee data. The data breach impacted over 539,000 individuals’ personal information.
Between January 5, 2023, and March 20, 2023, an unauthorized third party breached Forever 21’s computer system, stealing employees’ personal and protected health information who were enrolled in their health plan, such as their name, Social Security number, date of birth, bank account number (without access code or pin), and information regarding their Forever21 health plan, including enrollment and premiums paid.
Forever 21 recently began informing individuals between August 29, 2023 through August 31, 2023 through a written notification letter. All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous to affected victims. In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to unauthorized credit card applications, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web, to a massive uptick in the number of spam text messages, calls, and emails received.
