Serco, Inc. Data Breach Investigation

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating Serco, Inc., for a data breach of over 10,000 individuals’ personal information.  On or around May 31, 2023 an unauthorized third party breached Serco’s computer system, stealing individuals’ personal information, including their names, Social Security Number, date of birth, home mailing address, Serco and/or personal email address, and health benefits individuals elected for each year. Serco recently began informing individuals of this breach in August 2023 through a written notification letter. All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous. In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to unauthorized credit card applications, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web, to a massive uptick in the number of spam text messages, calls and emails received.
