Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating outsized wheels in the 2021 Tesla Model S. Owners report excessive inner tire tread, necessitating replacement of the tires before their expected life has worn out. The tire tread may be due, in part, to a suspension setting that, when set to “Low,” results in camber changes designed to increase the vehicle’s grip for better performance and cornering grip. Tires that are bigger than the vehicle’s frame supports would have increased inner contact with the road, potentially even with the frame of the vehicle itself. The replacement cost, per tire, is upwards of $300.
