Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating the New Hampshire based healthcare provider Neuro Rehab Associates, Inc., doing business as Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital Network (“Northeast Rehab”), which recently notified consumers of an unauthorized security breach. Hackers may have seized names or other personal identifiers, in combination with financial account numbers, or credit/debit card numbers, along with the security code, access code, password or PIN for those accounts.
Hackers breached Northeast Rehab’s network in September 2021, but Northeast Rehab only recently discovered the breach and began notifying affected individuals in August 2022. As a result, hackers may have already been able to sell the data or otherwise benefit from the fraudulent misuse of such information. People affected by the data breach may have already noticed (or may soon notice) one or more of the following types of fraudulent activity related to their personal and health information: unauthorized credit card inquiries or charges, requests for loans or benefits in an individual’s name without their consent, fake medical procedures ordered, or disrupted use of an institution’s website.
