Rearview Camera Failure in Cadillac XT5/ XT6 and GMC Acadia

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating Cadillac and GMC over reported rearview camera failure in Cadillac XT5/ XT6 and GMC Acadia for the 2020-2021 model years. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has instigated an investigation based on widespread consumer reports of dangerous rearview camera black-outs and glitches. On at least one occasion, the defect has caused a crash. The defect puts consumers at risk because many rely on the feature in backing and are caught off guard and/or scrambling to see behind them when the camera shuts off or won’t cut on. Consumers also complain about having paid a premium for the function of the rearview camera, which is, through this defect, rendered at best unreliable and at worst useless.
