90 Degree Benefits Data Breach Investigation

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating the Milwaukee, Wisconsin office of 90 Degree Benefits (formerly EBSO, Inc.) for failing to safeguard sensitive customer information in a data breach that occurred in February of 2022.  90 Degree Benefits designs health plans and administers employee health benefits for a variety of businesses.

90 Degree Benefits began sending notification letters to potentially affected customers in June of 2022 alerting them to the loss of their information.  Exactly what information may have been affected in the case of each individual, however, still remains unknown.  In many data breaches, the lapse in time between the breach and the company’s notice to affected customers allows hackers to acquire and sell sensitive customer information such as social security numbers.  In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have been forced to spend money on credit monitoring services or to resolve the negative impact of identity theft and/or fraud. Some individuals affected by the data breach may have noticed one or more of the following types of fraudulent activity related to the loss of their personal information: requests for government services or loans, unauthorized accounts opened in their names, or fraudulent bank/credit card charges.
