Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating at least 10 common brands of eyedrops after the Center for Disease Control and Prevention found a link between an extensively drug-resistant bacterial strain and artificial tears eye drops. This dangerous germ has caused various infections in 55 people in 12 states, killing one and leaving others hospitalized and with permanent vision loss. Those infected reported using over 10 different common brands of eyedrops sold by household stores like Walmart and Amazon. Most alarmingly the FDA and the CDC have recently recommended clinicians and patients stop buying and using two of these products; EzriCare Artificial Tears and Delsam Pharma’s Artificial Tears . In a separate notice, the FDA further added that the products’ manufacturer, Global Pharma Healthcare. M&R wants to hold manufacturers responsible for the potential harm to consumers.
