Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating S.R. Freeman, a California-based contracting firm, for an apparent failure to safeguard patient information in a data breach. On or around November 30, 2022, S.R. Freeman suffered a data breach, revealing the names and personal identifiers of individuals in combination with their Social Security Numbers (SSNs), and potentially other information.
The cybercriminals responsible for the breach may have already obtained and sold the compromised patient information. In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, medical and/or government services ordered in their name, or their information being posted on the dark web.
