Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating the Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e for a design defect that easily blocks the device’s Wi-Fi signal. Users report that the tablet’s Wi-Fi receiver, seemingly located on the top left corner when held in portrait or bottom left when in landscape, loses connection or strength when a hand covers that part of the tablet. Similar to Apple’s “antennagate” scandal a few years back, where the iPhone 4’s reception could be blocked by a user’s holding of the phone in a common way, one workaround for Samsung’s device is not to hold it in the way one is accustomed—or rather, to change the held orientation so that the Wi-Fi antenna ends up on the top right side of the device, rather than the lower left.
