Ford Maverick and Lincoln Nautilus Inverter-Controller Failures Investigation

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating reports of inverter-system controller failures affecting certain Ford Maverick and Lincoln Nautilus vehicles. The issue may cause vehicles to display safety warnings and experience limited power, potentially leaving drivers unable to rely on normal vehicle performance.

Ford issued a manufacturer service communication, SSM 55140, addressing a condition affecting certain 2025–2026 Ford Maverick vehicles built on or before December 5, 2025, and certain 2024–2026 Lincoln Nautilus vehicles built on or before September 4, 2025.

The affected vehicles may display messages such as “Stop Safely Now” or “Service Vehicle Soon” after startup, accompanied by diagnostic trouble codes associated with the inverter-system controller. Ford’s service communication directs technicians to replace the inverter-system controller when the specified conditions are present.

The inverter-system controller is part of the vehicle’s electronic propulsion-control system. A failure that limits vehicle power may create practical and safety concerns, particularly if the vehicle cannot accelerate normally or requires the driver to stop unexpectedly.

The service communication does not establish that every listed vehicle has a defective controller, nor does it constitute a recall covering every vehicle within the listed model years. Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating how frequently the condition occurs, what repairs owners have required, and whether consumers have incurred unreimbursed expenses.

Consumers May Have Experienced:

  • “Stop Safely Now” or “Service Vehicle Soon” dashboard warnings;
  • Reduced or limited vehicle power;
  • Unexpected interruptions to normal vehicle operation;
  • Difficulty starting or operating a vehicle normally;
  • Repeat dealership visits to diagnose or repair the issue;
  • Repair expenses, towing charges, or time without the vehicle;
  • Concerns about becoming stranded or losing power while driving.

Potential Claims May Include:

  • Breach of warranty;
  • State consumer-protection claims involving alleged misrepresentations or nondisclosure of a defect;
  • Claims for reimbursement of qualifying diagnostic, repair, towing, or related expenses;
  • Product-liability claims if a controller failure caused personal injury or property damage.

Signs You May Be Affected:

  • Own or previously owned a 2025 or 2026 Ford Maverick built on or before December 5, 2025;
  • Own or previously owned a 2024, 2025, or 2026 Lincoln Nautilus built on or before September 4, 2025;
  • Received a “Stop Safely Now” or “Service Vehicle Soon” warning;
  • Were diagnosed with inverter-system controller trouble codes, including P0A5D, P0A60, P0A63, P0A6F, P0A72, P0A75, or P0E52;
  • Had the inverter-system controller replaced or were advised that it needed replacement;
  • Paid for diagnostics, repairs, towing, or alternative transportation because of the problem.
