Lingopie Automatic Renewal Investigation

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating whether Lingopie improperly charged consumers for subscriptions after they attempted to cancel free trials or paid memberships.

Lingopie is a language-learning platform that allows subscribers to learn languages through television shows, movies, and other video content. The service offers paid subscriptions and promotional free trials that may automatically convert into paid memberships.

Consumers have reported problems with Lingopie’s subscription cancellation and billing practices. Some allege that they were charged for annual subscriptions despite attempting to cancel before their free trials expired.

In one reported instance, a consumer stated that they cancelled during the trial period but were nevertheless charged for a full year of service.

These complaints raise questions about whether Lingopie properly processes cancellation requests, clearly discloses when free trials convert into paid subscriptions, and obtains the authorization required for recurring charges.

Migliaccio & Rathod is investigating whether consumers were charged for Lingopie subscriptions they did not intend to purchase or had already attempted to cancel.
