GENMAX GM15000ET CO Sensor Shutdown Investigation

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating reports of potential carbon monoxide sensor or control-system problems affecting GENMAX GM15000ET and potentially related large tri-fuel generators.

The GENMAX GM15000ET is marketed as a high-output tri-fuel generator for applications including home backup and emergency power. It includes a carbon monoxide monitoring system intended to shut the generator down when unsafe CO levels are detected.

A recent owner report involving a 2025 GENMAX GM15000ET describes the generator repeatedly shutting down after approximately 10 minutes of operation because of the CO system, despite the owner attempting to use the generator for its intended backup-power purpose. The screening also identified reports involving fuel or regulator issues on other recent GENMAX tri-fuel generators, although those may involve separate causes. Pasted markdown

Migliaccio & Rathod is investigating whether certain GENMAX GM15000ET generators contain defective CO sensors, calibration, controllers, or related components that cause repeated shutdowns during proper outdoor operation.

Owners May Have Experienced:

  • A generator repeatedly shutting down after several minutes;
  • A CO-system warning or shutdown while operating outdoors;
  • Difficulty restarting the generator after a shutdown;
  • Repeated shutdowns despite complying with placement instructions;
  • Trouble obtaining a satisfactory repair from GENMAX; or
  • Being unable to rely on the generator during an outage.

Potential Claims May Include:

  • Defective CO sensors or control systems;
  • Defective sensor calibration;
  • Breach of express or implied warranties;
  • Failure to provide an effective repair;
  • Loss of use or diminished product value; and
  • Violations of applicable consumer-protection laws.

Signs You May Be Affected:

  • You purchased a GENMAX GM15000ET or similar recent large tri-fuel generator;
  • Your generator repeatedly shuts down with a CO indication;
  • Shutdowns occur despite proper outdoor operation;
  • The generator runs for only a short period before stopping;
  • GENMAX has replaced or recommended replacement of a sensor or control component; or
  • The problem has prevented you from reliably using the generator for backup power.
