Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating reports that original-generation Gozney Dome pizza ovens may develop severe cracking, separation, or deterioration of their stone cooking floors, potentially leaving consumers with an expensive oven that cannot be easily repaired.
The Gozney Dome is a premium outdoor pizza oven that has sold for approximately $2,000 or more. Its stone floor is an integral part of the oven and provides the cooking surface on which pizzas and other foods are prepared.
Some Gozney Dome owners have reported that the stone does more than develop a minor cosmetic crack. Consumers have described cracks that grow progressively worse, spread across the cooking surface, cause pieces of the stone to separate, or leave portions of the oven floor difficult or impossible to use.
Consumers Report:
- large cracks developing in the stone cooking floor;
- cracks spreading or worsening with continued use;
- pieces of the cooking stone separating or breaking apart;
- uneven cooking surfaces after the stone deteriorates;
- difficulty safely or effectively using portions of the oven;
- being unable to simply remove and replace the damaged stone; and
- warranty claims being denied because the failure occurred outside the applicable warranty period.
The problem may be particularly frustrating for owners of the original Dome because the cooking stone was not designed to be easily removed and replaced.
Newer Gozney Dome Gen 2 uses a removable stone floor, making replacement possible if the stone becomes damaged. Migliaccio & Rathod is investigating whether owners of original-generation Dome ovens were adequately informed about the durability and serviceability of their stone floors and whether consumers experiencing serious stone failures received an adequate remedy.
Potential Claims May Include:
- defective design;
- breach of express or implied warranty;
- failure to adequately disclose a recurring durability problem;
- unfair or deceptive trade practices; and
- damages associated with repair, replacement, or diminished product value.

- the cooking surface became uneven or difficult to use;
- you were told that the original stone could not simply be replaced; or
