Samsung Refrigerator Ice Maker Investigation

Migliaccio & Rathod is investigating consumer reports that Samsung Side by Side Refrigerators have defective ice makers, which are reported to fail completely and require a full and expensive repair of the ice maker.

Owners of the Samsung Side by Side Refrigerator have stated that a plastic ice cube tray in the ice maker frequently cracks from standard ice maker usage, causing water to leak through the crack, completely freezing the ice maker and making it unusable. In order to repair it, Samsung requires that customers pay to completely replace the ice maker, not just the tray, and charges $100-$200 for the repair. Some customers even report that they had to spend over five hundred dollars to have the issue addressed and fixed, while others state that the problem is recurrent even after the ice maker has been replaced.
