On or about December 21, 2023, Cherry Health noticed that their systems were unexpectedly down. The health organization started an investigation and determined that it had experienced a hacking event by which unauthorized access to its data was obtained. Cherry Health concluded their investigation of the attach on March 25, 2024. The impacted information includes:
- Addresses
- Phone numbers
- Dates of birth
- Health insurance information
- Health insurance ID number
- Patient ID number
- Provider name
- Service date
- Diagnosis/treatment information
- Prescription information
- Financial account information and/or Social Security numbers
Impact of Data Breaches
Cherry Health informed individuals of this breach through a mailed notice, delivered on or about January 24, 2024. It appears that the company updated their data breach notices and sent a finalized version on or around April 16, 2024.
