EasyKnock Deceptive Practices Investigation

UPDATE: Migliaccio & Rathod is no longer investigating EasyKnock. We encourage you to contact your state’s attorney general or a lawyer who handles individual claims for further guidance.

Migliaccio & Rathod is investigating EasyKnock for reports of deceitful practices with their ‘sale-leaseback’ and violation of tenant protection laws. Consumers have reported that EasyKnock often purchases homes at bargain prices from homeowners with substantial equity but little cash flow, and then charges them unlawful fees and fails to make necessary repairs.

The Massachusetts Attorney General reported that EasyKnock would often portray the sale of homes with loan-like language and frequently did not fully disclose that the company would be purchasing the house. Some consumers stated that EasyKnock deceived them about market rents and would change contracts without notification. In their function as landlord, the Attorney General also stated that the company failed to meet a variety of their legal duties or violated tenant protection law, including but not limited to shifting costs of repairs to tenants, charging for water, charging late fees, and charging for deposits in excess of the legal maximum.

Have you sold then had to rent a home from EasyKnock? Have you had your tenant’s rights violated?

If yes, then we would like to hear from you.  Please complete the contact form on this page, send us an email at [email protected], or give us a call at (202) 470-3520.
