Lenovo Yoga C740 and 7i Laptops Hinge Issues

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating Lenovo over reports that their Yoga C740 and 7i laptops experience various hinge issues, including broken, stuck, or misaligned hinges. Consumers have reported that the hinges are out of alignment, that the hinges break or stick, or that the hinge plate cover begins to peel or crack. When a hinge breaks, sticks, or becomes misaligned it can damage the display and essentially render the laptop useless.

As a result of the defective hinges, owners express regret in buying the Yoga C740, which is marketed on Lenovo’s website as having “heavyweight performance with lightweight portability” and the Yoga 7i, which is marketed as “designed for comfort and ease.” Lenovo, in not taking action to address and solve this issue in Yoga laptops, places the burden of their own manufacturing failures directly on Yoga C740 and 7i owners who have wasted time and resources searching for temporary solutions.
