2022 Kia EV6 Defective Meridian Sound System

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP has announced the 2022 Kia EV6 Defective Meridian Sound System Investigation for defective speakers found in the all-electric EV6. Owners report that vehicles equipped with the Meridian Sound System, which is an option for lower trims and standard on the GT trim, have defective speakers that emit low-volume sounds or no sound at all. This defect presents safety concerns because safety alerts and chimes, such as beeps from the blind spot monitoring and sounds from the turning signal indicator, normally go through the speakers. Because the speakers do not work, however, owners are unable to hear these alerts designed for safe driving. Kia is aware of the problem and has issued a manufacturer communication, advising dealers to update the AMP logic or replace the AMP. Owners report they’ve been given no timeline for when parts will become available, and some have gone months without working speakers.
