Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating the Pennsylvania-based healthcare provider Medical Associates of the Lehigh Valley (“MALTV”), which recently notified consumers of an unauthorized security breach. Hackers may have seized patient names, addresses, email addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, state ID numbers, health insurance providers, medical diagnoses, medical treatment information, medications, and lab results.
MALTV became aware of the attack on July 3, but only began distributing data breach notification letters in September. As result, hackers may have already been able to sell the data or otherwise benefit from the fraudulent misuse of such information. People affected by the data breach may have already noticed (or may soon notice) one or more of the following types of fraudulent activity related to their personal and health information: unauthorized credit card inquiries or charges, requests for loans or benefits in an individual’s name without their consent, fake medical procedures ordered, or disrupted use of an institution’s website.
Have you recently received a data breach notification letter from MALTV?
If so, we would like to hear from you. Please complete the contact form on this page, send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or give us a call at (202) 470-3520.
