Migliaccio & Rathod LLP Investigates the EmergeOrtho Data Breach

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating the North Carolina based healthcare provider, EmergeOrtho, which recently notified patients of an unauthorized security breach. Hackers may have seized names or other personal identifiers, in combination with financial account numbers, or credit/debit card numbers, along with the security code, access code, password or PIN for those accounts

Hackers breached EmergeOrtho’s network back in May 2022, but only recently discovered the breach and began notifying affected individuals. As result, hackers may have already been able to sell the data or otherwise benefit from the fraudulent misuse of such information. People affected by the data breach may have already noticed (or may soon notice) one or more of the following types of fraudulent activity related to their personal and health information: unauthorized credit card inquiries or charges, requests for loans or benefits in an individual’s name without their consent, fake medical procedures ordered, or disrupted use of the institution’s website.
