SERV Data Leak Investigation

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating the New Jersey based behavioral healthcare organization SERV Behavioral Health Systems Inc. (“SERV”) for a potential data breach. Hive, an infamous ransomware group, may have hacked SERV’s website on May 26, 2022, but SERV has not yet confirmed the data breach.

It is unclear how many people have been affected by this leak and what information may have been stolen. In general, patients whose personal information has been compromised may notice one or more of the following types of fraudulent activity related to their personal and health information: unauthorized credit card inquiries or charges, requests for loans or benefits in an individual’s name without their consent, fake medical procedures ordered, or disrupted use of the institution’s website.

As far as we are aware, SERV has not yet notified any patients that their personal information has been stolen, but they may do so soon.

Have you recently received an unauthorized disclosure notification letter from SERV?

If so, we would like to hear from you.  Please complete the contact form on this page, send us an email at [email protected], or give us a call at (202) 470-3520.
