Multiple customer reports state that the glass panel on the door of their Breville ovens shattered without reason. Complaints have continued for over two years now, with the issue present on current models. Rather than issue a recall, Breville continues to sell its Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro for anywhere between $350-$400, seemingly opting instead to replace units after they’ve exhibited the defect, rather than preemptively inspecting them. Affected owners have been shocked not only by the noise produced when the glass shatters, which has been likened to a small bomb, but also by the pieces of glass that could have seriously injured children and pets.
