Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating the e-commerce website PulseTV for failing to safeguard sensitive customer information in a data breach that occurred in March of 2021. The data breach occurred when hackers accessed PulseTV’s website, compromised the information of over 200,000 customers, and processed unauthorized credit card transactions using customer payment information. An investigation determined that PulseTV customers who had purchased products on the store’s website with a credit card between November 1, 2019, and August 31, 2021 may have been affected by the data breach, which involved hackers planting Javascript skimmers within the checkout processing page on the retailer’s website.
When hackers target retail website, these criminals can acquire and sell customer information such as credit card numbers, personal identifiers, and other important identifying information. In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have been forced to spend money on credit monitoring services or other fraudulent charges. Some customers may have noticed one or more of the following types of fraudulent activity related to the information they inputted on the PulseTV website: suspicious credit card charges, credit card applications, and/or loans in a customer’s name.
Are you or have you been a PulseTV customer within the last three years who has seen fraudulent activity in your accounts or received a data breach notification letter from PulseTV?
