Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating Beaumont Health for failure to adequately safeguard patient information, resulting in a data breach. Various Beaumont patients fell victim to a phishing scam that dates back nearly a year, which resulted in exposure of patient information to potentially malicious actors. The information shared includes names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, diagnosis, diagnosis code, procedure, treatment location, treatment type, and prescription information. In some cases, patients’ bank account information and, driver’s license numbers were also compromised by the breach, which occurred between May 23 and June 3, 2019.
