Hartford Healthcare Data Breach Investigation

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating Hartford Healthcare for failure to adequately safeguard patient information, resulting in a data breach. Forensic investigators found that, from February 13th through 14th, an unsanctioned third party gained access to two employee email accounts via a phishing attack. At least one of the accounts accessed included private information for 2,651 Hartford Healthcare patients.

Compromised information includes, but is not limited to:

  • Names
  • Dates of Birth
  • Medical Records

Patients’ social security numbers were compromised in 23 cases. Hartford Healthcare will offer two years of free credit monitoring to those whose social security information was compromised. The company has notified the remaining affected patients by mail.
