Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is involved in The Facial Pain Center Data Breach Investigation that affected 238,667 individuals and their personal information.
The Facial Pain Center (“FPC”) detected suspicious activity within several employee email accounts. After conducting an investigation, FPC discovered that a hacker had accessed several employee email accounts containing the personally identifiable information of its patients from January 11, 2024 to January 23, 2024. The compromised information includes, but is not limited, to the following highly sensitive data:
- Full Names
- Demographic Information
- Dates of Birth
- Health Insurance Information
- Medical Information
The Facial Pain Center Data Breach
The Facial Pain Center recently sent a notice letter to affected patients informing them of the data breach. All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous to affected victims. As is likely to be the case with the FPC data breach, in previous data breaches victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to unauthorized credit card applications, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web, to a massive uptick in the number of spam text messages, calls and emails received.
