On August 16, 2024, the Texas Attorney General’s Data Security Breach reports database displayed information from a data breach affecting ERLC, LLC, d/b/a Elitecare Emergency Hospital. The data breach database refelcts that at least 15,000 Texans are affected by the breach, though it is unclear whether this also equates to the total number of individuals affected. It is important to note that, as of August 26, 2024, consumer notification to those affected has not yet been made. ERLC, LLC, d/b/a Elitecare Emergency Hospital discovered that hackers were able to compromise a significant amount of personal information. The compromised information includes a variety of highly sensitive details including:

  • Name of individual;
  • Address;
  • Social Security Number Information;
  • Driver’s License number;
  • Medical Information;
  • Health Insurance Information;
  • Date of Birth

ERLC, LLC, d/b/a Elitecare Emergency Hospital informed the Texas State Attorney General’s office of the breach, but no letter is currently available. All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous to affected victims. As is likely to be the case with the ERLC, LLC, d/b/a Elitecare Emergency Hospital data breach, in previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to unauthorized credit card applications, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web, to a massive uptick in the number of spam text messages, calls and emails received.
