Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating mscripts, LLC, a Cardinal Health company (“mscripts”), for an apparent failure to safeguard sensitive information in a data breach that impacted over 63,000 individuals. mscripts recently notified the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights after determining that confidential consumer information stored on mscripts’ network may have been accessed and stolen by cybercriminals. To date, it remains uncertain what exact information may have been stolen.
The cybercriminals responsible for the breach may have already obtained and sold the compromised information. In previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts that include, but are not limited to, phishing scams, fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, medical and/or government services ordered in their name, or their information being posted on the dark web.
