Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is currently investigating both the Ohio-based mortgage provider KeyBank and its insurance services provider Overby-Seawell Company (“OSC”). On July 5th, hackers breached OSC’s computer systems, seizing information about KeyBank mortgage holders. OSC provides technical services to a number of financial institutions, and hackers may have accessed information from other institutions as well.
KeyBank has already begun notifying affected consumers, and other OSC corporate clients may soon follow. Given how long it has been since the breach, hackers may have already been able to sell the data or otherwise benefit from the fraudulent misuse of such information. People affected by the data breach may have already noticed (or may soon notice) one or more of the following types of fraudulent activity related to their personal information: unauthorized credit card inquiries or charges, requests for loans or benefits in an individual’s name without their consent, or disrupted use of an institution’s website.
Have you recently received a data breach notification letter from KeyBank, or another bank that uses Overby-Seawell?
If so, we would like to hear from you. Please complete the contact form on this page, send us an email at [email protected], or give us a call at (202) 470-3520.
