Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating reports that certain Paria Recharge UL sleeping pads may develop multiple air leaks along the molded ridges or crease areas of the pad during ordinary use.
Unlike a typical puncture from a rock, branch, or other sharp object, the reported leaks have appeared within the formed ridges and creases of the sleeping pad itself. This raises concerns that repeated flexing, inflation, and normal use may place excessive stress on certain portions of the material.
Consumers Report:
- sleeping pads losing air overnight;
- multiple leaks developing on the same pad;
- leaks appearing along ridges or crease lines;
- difficulty identifying any outside object that caused the damage;
- repairing one leak only for another to appear;
- premature deterioration of the pad material; and
- apparent moisture or mold inside the pad.
For campers and backpackers, repeated air loss can leave a sleeping pad effectively unusable and may require repeated patching or complete replacement.
Migliaccio & Rathod is investigating whether the Paria Recharge UL may experience a recurring durability problem involving the materials, laminate, or construction of its formed ridge areas.
Potential Claims May Include:
- defective material or laminate construction;
- premature fatigue at ridge or crease locations;
- breach of express or implied warranty;
- failure to adequately disclose premature leakage problems; and
- unfair or deceptive trade practices.
Signs You May Be Affected:
- You purchased a Paria Recharge UL sleeping pad;
- your pad developed multiple air leaks;
- leaks appeared specifically within the formed ridges or creases;
- there was no obvious puncture from a rock, stick, or other outside object;
- additional leaks appeared after you repaired earlier ones;
- you noticed moisture or apparent mold inside the pad; or
- you still have the affected pad, photographs, or warranty communications.
