GE Profile PHS700 Burner Recognition Investigation

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating reports that certain GE Profile PHS700-series induction ranges may experience problems recognizing compatible cookware, delivering expected heating performance, or suffering premature electronic failure.

Consumers have reported that some burners may fail to detect induction-compatible pans, heat more weakly than expected, or take an unusually long time to produce sufficient heat for ordinary cooking. Other reports describe the entire appliance becoming inoperable within the first year.

Consumers Report:

  • burners repeatedly failing to recognize induction-compatible cookware;
  • compatible pans working on one burner but not another;
  • large cooking zones providing weaker heating than expected;
  • burners taking unusually long to brown or sear food;
  • slow or inconsistent heating;
  • concerns that the effective induction coil may be smaller than expected;
  • electronic or induction-module failures; and
  • the entire range becoming unusable within the first year.

One July 2026 consumer reported that a PHS700-series range was slow to heat, that one burner repeatedly failed to recognize compatible cookware, and that the entire appliance failed after approximately nine months. Another consumer reported that a 10-inch pan was not detected by the large burner and that a medium burner failed to become hot enough to brown meat even after approximately 20 minutes on high.

Potential Claims May Include:

  • defective induction-module design;
  • defective cookware-recognition sensors;
  • premature electronic failure;
  • breach of express or implied warranty;
  • failure to adequately disclose recurring performance problems; and
  • unfair or deceptive trade practices.

Signs You May Be Affected:

  • You purchased a GE Profile PHS700AYFS or related PHS700-series induction range;
  • one or more burners frequently fail to recognize compatible cookware;
  • pans that work on other induction burners are not detected on certain zones;
  • one or more burners provide substantially weaker heating than expected;
  • your range developed electronic or induction-system problems within the first few years;
  • the entire appliance stopped working;
  • GE or a technician replaced an induction module, control board, sensor, or related component; or
  • you have service records, videos, receipts, or communications documenting repeated problems.

The exact cause of these reports has not yet been established. We are particularly interested in identifying whether affected ranges share common induction modules, coil dimensions, cookware-recognition components, or electronic parts.
