This investigation concerns a different issue from touch controls that merely shut down or become unresponsive.
Reports involving certain Frigidaire induction ranges describe burners or oven functions allegedly turning themselves on while the appliance was unattended, potentially creating a serious fire or burn hazard.
A CPSC SaferProducts report involving a Frigidaire induction range describes allegations that burners, bake, broil, and cleaning functions activated unexpectedly. The consumer reportedly awoke to a burning smell after a burner heated cookware despite no intentional activation.
Additional consumer reports include an FGIH3047VF allegedly activating burners at high power and a July 2026 review involving a GCFI3060BF whose owner reported discovering that the oven had started without being intentionally turned on.
Consumers Report:
- burners activating without intentional input;
- induction zones unexpectedly switching to high power;
- ovens beginning to heat while unattended;
- bake, broil, or cleaning functions activating unexpectedly;
- discovering the appliance hot even though it was believed to be turned off;
- burning smells associated with unexpected heating;
- repeated technician visits without permanently resolving the issue; and
- replacement of control boards or other electronic components.

- components shared among multiple Frigidaire induction-range models.
Reports involving more than one product generation raise questions about whether different Frigidaire ranges may share common electronic components or control architecture.
