Numotion Data Breach Investigation

Numotion Data Breach Investigation

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is involved in the Numotion data breach investigation that affected an unknown number of individuals and their personal information.

Numotion was alerted to unauthorized access on its network between September 2, 2024, and November 18, 2024. Numotion launched an investigation that determined unauthorized third parties had accessed customer information through viewing emails. Affected patients were not notified of the Numotion data breach until March 7, 2025. Numotion discovered that hackers were able to compromise a significant amount of personal information. The compromised information includes a variety of highly sensitive details including:

  • included names,
  • dates of birth,
  • product information,
  • payment and financial account information,
  • health insurance information,
  • medical information, and
  • Social Security numbers and driver’s license numbers

The Numotion Data Breach Investigation

Numotion informed the Vermont State Attorney General’s office of the breach. All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous to affected victims. As is likely to be the case with the Numotion data breach, in previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to unauthorized credit card applications, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web, to a massive uptick in the number of spam text messages, calls and emails received.
