Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating a potentially dangerous electrical defect affecting certain Grand Design Reflection fifth-wheel recreational vehicles. The issue involves a solar charge controller that may select an incorrect voltage, potentially damaging electrical components and creating risks of fire, lighting failure, and loss of trailer braking.
On September 24, 2026, Grand Design RV announced a safety recall, NHTSA Recall No. 26V-616, covering certain 2024–2027 Reflection fifth-wheel trailers. The recall affects approximately 16,128 vehicles.
The recalled solar controller may incorrectly select a 24-volt output even though the trailer’s electrical system is designed for 12 volts. This excessive voltage may damage the seven-way bulkhead power center and other electrical circuits.
According to the recall information, damage to the power center may increase the risk of fire. Damage to other electrical components may also cause the trailer’s exterior lights or brakes to fail, potentially increasing the risk of a crash.
Consumers May Have Experienced:
- Electrical system malfunctions or unexpected component failures;
- Damage to the trailer’s power center or other electrical circuits;
- Exterior lighting failures that reduce visibility to other motorists;
- Trailer braking problems that make towing more dangerous;
- Electrical repairs, diagnostic expenses, or periods when the RV could not be used;
- Concern about fire or crash risks while traveling or camping.
Potential Claims May Include:
- Breach of warranty;
- State consumer-protection claims concerning the sale or marketing of defective recreational vehicles;
- Claims for reimbursement of qualifying repair expenses or other economic losses;
- Product-liability claims if the defect caused property damage or personal injury.
Signs You May Be Affected:
- Own or previously owned a 2024–2027 Grand Design Reflection fifth-wheel RV;
- Received a recall notice identifying campaign 26V-616 or manufacturer campaign 910068;
- Experienced electrical malfunctions or damage involving the solar controller or power center;
- Experienced exterior lighting or trailer braking problems;
