Bravecto Quantum Flea and Tick Protection Investigation

Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating whether Merck Animal Health misled dog owners about the duration of flea and tick protection provided by Bravecto Quantum, an injectable treatment administered by veterinarians.

Bravecto Quantum has been advertised as providing 365 days of protection with a single injection. However, while the product is approved to provide 12 months of protection against certain tick species, its FDA-approved dosing interval for protection against lone star ticks is only eight months. In May 2026, the National Advertising Review Board (NARB) determined that Merck’s broad once-yearly protection claims were misleading without clearer qualifications.

Migliaccio & Rathod is investigating whether dog owners purchased Bravecto Quantum expecting a full year of protection against all covered tick species without being adequately informed that protection against lone star ticks requires more frequent treatment.

Dog Owners May Have Experienced:

  • Purchasing Bravecto Quantum based on promises of year-long flea and tick protection;
  • Believing one injection would protect their dogs against all covered tick species for 12 months;
  • Not being informed that lone star tick protection lasts only eight months;
  • Paying for additional tick prevention or veterinary treatment; or
  • Discovering that the advertised protection period differed depending on tick species.

Potential Claims May Include:

  • Misleading advertising concerning the duration of tick protection;
  • Failure to adequately disclose limitations on the advertised 12-month protection period;
  • Misrepresentations concerning product effectiveness; or
  • Violations of state consumer protection laws.

Signs You May Be Affected:

  • Your dog received a Bravecto Quantum injection;
  • You purchased the treatment expecting 12 months of tick protection;
  • You live in or visited an area where lone star ticks are present;
  • You were not informed about the eight-month lone star tick dosing interval;
  • You paid for additional tick prevention or veterinary treatment; or
  • You have veterinary records documenting the treatment.
