Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating reports that certain Weber SmokeFire pellet grills may experience flameouts, unexpected shutdowns, temperature instability, or pellet-feeding problems during ordinary cooking.
The Weber SmokeFire pellet grill uses an electronically controlled pellet system intended to automatically maintain the user’s selected cooking temperature. Consumers may rely on that functionality during both short cooks and longer smoking sessions where consistent heat is especially important.
Owners have reported problems involving temperature swings, loss of flame, shutdowns, and pellet-delivery issues that can interrupt cooking and require the grill to be restarted.
Consumers Report:
- the flame unexpectedly going out during cooking;
- grills losing temperature or shutting down;
- large temperature swings despite a fixed temperature setting;
- pellets failing to feed consistently;
- pellets accumulating or bridging in the hopper;
- error messages requiring the grill to be restarted; and
- repeated attempts to repair or replace components without permanently correcting the problem.
Unexpected flameouts can be particularly problematic during long cooking sessions because consumers may not immediately realize that the grill has stopped producing heat.
Migliaccio & Rathod is investigating whether affected Weber SmokeFire pellet grills share a common problem involving the pellet hopper, auger, controller, temperature sensors, combustion system, or related software and electronics.
Potential Claims May Include:
- defective pellet-delivery or combustion-system design;
- defective electronic controls or software;
- breach of express or implied warranty;
- failure to adequately disclose recurring performance problems;
- failure to provide an effective repair; and
- unfair or deceptive trade practices.
Signs You May Be Affected:
- You purchased a Weber SmokeFire pellet grill;
- the flame repeatedly goes out during normal cooking;
- your grill unexpectedly loses temperature or shuts down;
- pellets fail to feed consistently from the hopper;
- you experience substantial temperature swings;
- Weber replaced an auger, controller, sensor, or other component because of the problem; or
- the same problem returned after repair or replacement.
