Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is investigating reports that DRIcore® basement subfloor panels may warp, swell, or otherwise deteriorate when exposed to ordinary basement humidity or moisture, despite being marketed as a flooring system designed to create a warmer, drier finished basement.
DRIcore subfloor panels are installed over concrete slabs to help protect finished flooring from moisture migrating through basement floors. However, homeowners have reported that some panels allegedly warp, lift, or become uneven after installation under ordinary basement conditions. Other consumers have reported staining, possible mold growth, or moisture-related deterioration beneath the panels, raising concerns that the product may not perform as expected in the environment for which it is specifically marketed.
Reported Problems with DRIcore Basement Subfloor
Consumers have reported experiencing:
- warped or raised subfloor panels;
- springy or uneven flooring after installation;
- moisture-related swelling of the OSB surface;
- staining or suspected mold beneath the panels;
- deterioration following ordinary humid basement conditions;
- concerns regarding trapped moisture beneath the flooring system; and
- expensive repairs requiring removal of finished flooring to access failed panels.
