Andersen markets its 100 Series windows as durable, energy-efficient products that incorporate insulated glass units designed to provide long-term performance. However, some homeowners have reported that the insulated glass seals failed years before they expected, allowing moisture to enter the sealed glass unit. Once a seal fails, the moisture often cannot be cleaned from the inside or outside of the window because it is trapped between the panes.
This investigation concerns premature insulated-glass seal failures and is separate from investigations involving window sash, frame, or hardware defects.
