Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is involved in the Xactus Data Breach Investigation that affected an undetermined number of individuals and their personal information.
Xactus recently announced that it had suffered a data breach of its email system. Subsequently, Xactus conducted an investigation, which uncovered a cybercriminal had accessed the personally identifiable information of its consumers contained therein on an unknown date. The notice letter provided by Xactus online does not reveal what information was released in the data breach.
Xactus Data Breach
Xactus recently provided notice of the data breach to the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office. All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous to affected victims. As is likely to be the case with the Xactus data breach, in previous cyberattacks, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to unauthorized credit card applications, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web, to a massive uptick in the number of spam text messages, calls and emails received.
