Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is involved in the AultCare Data Breach Investigation, regarding a breach that impacted an undetermined number of individuals and their personal information.
On September 25, 2024, AultCare Corporation, AultCare Insurance Company, and Aultra Administrative Group (collectively “AultCare“) discovered unusual activity in an employee’s email account. AultCare’s subsequent investigation confirmed a cybercriminal had accessed the employee’s email account and SharePoint instance containing consumers’ personally identifiable information stored therein on the above-referenced date. Specifically, the compromised information includes, but may not be limited to, the following sensitive data:
- full names
- dates of birth
- physical addresses
- Social Security numbers
AultCare Data Breach
AultCare recently provided notice of the data breach. All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous to affected victims. As is likely to be the case with the AultCare data breach, in previous cyberattacks, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to unauthorized credit card applications, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web, to a massive uptick in the number of spam text messages, calls and emails received.
