Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is involved in the EncompassCare Data Breach Investigation, regarding a breach that impacted an undetermined number of individuals and their personal information.
On October 4, 2024, EncompassCare learned of a disruption in some of its IT systems. EncompassCare subsequently launched an investigation, which uncovered that a cybercriminal had stolen files containing the personally identifiable information of EncompassCare patients contained therein on September 17, 2024. Specifically, the compromised information includes, but is not limited to, the following sensitive data:
- full names
- dates of birth
- Social Security numbers
- phone numbers
- medical information
- insurance information
EncompassCare Health Services, Inc. Data Breach
EncompassCare recently sent notice of the data breach to impacted parties. All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous to affected victims. As is likely to be the case with the EncompassCare Health Services, Inc. data breach, in previous cyberattacks, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to unauthorized credit card applications, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web, to a massive uptick in the number of spam text messages, calls and emails received.
