Migliaccio & Rathod LLP is involved in the Young Life data breach investigation that affected 51,226 individuals and their personal information.

On June 14, 2024, Young Life was alerted to unauthorized access on its network. Young Life launched an investigation that determined unauthorized access occurred between June 13, 2024 – June 14, 2024. Affected consumers were not notified of the Young Life data breach until December 12, 2024. Young Life discovered that hackers were able to compromise a significant amount of personal information. The compromised information includes a variety of highly sensitive details including:

  • name,
  • Social Security number,
  • financial account information, and
  • payment card information

Young Life informed the Maine State Attorney General’s office of the breach, where a copy of the consumer notification letter can be found. All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous to affected victims. As is likely to be the case with the Young Life data breach, in previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to unauthorized credit card applications, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web, to a massive uptick in the number of spam text messages, calls and emails received.
