On August 26, 2024, the Maine Attorney General’s Data Security Breach reports database displayed information from a data breach affecting Young Consulting. The data breach report reflects that at least 954,177 individuals are affected by the breach. Young Consulting sent notice of the data breach to impacted consumers on August 26, 2024.
Young Consulting discovered that on April 13, 2024, hackers were able to compromise a significant amount of personal information. The compromised information includes a variety of highly sensitive details including:
- Name of individual;
- Social Security Number Information;
- Health Insurance Information; and
- Date of Birth

Young Consulting informed the Maine State Attorney General’s office of the breach. The Notice Letter can be viewed here. . All of the information stolen is likely valuable and dangerous to affected victims. As is likely to be the case with the Young Consulting data breach, in previous data breaches, victims of data theft have noticed identity theft attempts ranging from fraudulent charges on bank accounts or credit cards, to unauthorized credit card applications, to medical services or government services ordered in their name, to their information being posted on the dark web, to a massive uptick in the number of spam text messages, calls and emails received.
